Tips for living an active lifestyle
MACON, Ga-- It may not be as hard as you think to live an active lifestyle. Staying active is part of living a healthy life.
According to the Department of Health and Human Services less than five percent of the adult population gets 30 minutes of activity a day, and one-third of the population doesn't meet the recommended physical activity time for the week. The Department of Health and Human Services recommends about two and a half hours a week of physical activity.
Has Jenkins, the General Manager of Kinetix Health Club in Downtown Macon, said easy ways to get active in your everyday life are to park a little farther back in the parking lot at work and take the stairs instead of the elevator.
He said keeping a small set of dumbbells at your desk or switching your chair out for a exercise ball can really make a difference as well.
