Senator Johnny Isakson on memos "Trump did the right thing"
WASHINGTON, D.C.- Senator Johnny Isakson said he supports President Trump calling for the release of FBI memos related to the investigation into the 2016 Presidential Election.
"I believe in transparency. I don't think we should keep anything from the American people unless it's an intelligence secret or a military secret. I think he did the right thing, said Isakson.
Isakson said he has always had confidence in the FBI.
He also talked with WGXA News about the looming federal government shutdown.
Senate lawmakers voted to approve a 2-year deal Wednesday, but it faces a challenge in the senate.
"We're going to avoid a shutdown. They're not good for anybody. We all lose and it costs the taxpayer money. We're going to find a solution hopefully. I feel very comfortable by end of the day tomorrow hopefully by mid day. we're going to continue a resolution to March 22nd and we'll begin the debate on immigration which we've been needing to do for a long long time."
