19 grocery stores to close in Georgia

ALBANY, Ga. (WFXL) - 94 stores, including 19 Harveys, Winn-Dixies and BI-LOs in Georgia, are set to close as Southeastern Grocers undergoes restructuring.

The company says that they have entered into a Restructuring Support Agreement and will voluntarily file pre-packaged chapter 11 cases to efficiently execute its restructuring. They then expect to emerge from the restructuring within 90 days.

With a foundation built on iconic, heritage banners, and with the strong support of our leadership team, we will work through this process as quickly and efficiently as possible. We conducted a thorough review of our strategic options and determined that this financial restructuring is in the best interests of our associates, customers, supplier partners and the communities in which we serve. Southeastern Grocers is a strong, viable business and is building momentum with robust performance and new store concepts that resonate with our associates, customers and communities. This course of action enables us to continue writing the story for our company and our iconic, heritage banners in the Southeast.”

  • Harveys at 140 West Dykes St. in Cochran
  • Winn-Dixie at 5750 Milgen Road in Columbus
  • Harveys at 279 S. Main St. in Dawson
  • Harveys at 1945 Veterans Blvd in Dublin
  • Harveys at 202 Vineville St. in Fort Valley
  • Harveys at 1553 Us 19 South in Leesburg
  • Harveys at 1605 Shurling Dr. in Macon
  • Harveys at 506F Spaulding Rd. in Montezuma
  • Harveys at 1209 1St Ave. Southeast in Moultrie
  • Harveys at 415 North Irwin Ave. in Ocilla
  • BI-LO at 2142 E. Victory Drive in Savannah
  • Harveys at Hwy 112 & Azalea Trail in Sylvester

Affected stores are expected to be closed on or before April 30.
