19-year-old arrested for allegedly trying to meet a minor for sex
LYONS, Ga. -- A 19-year-old was arrested recently in Toombs County as part of an undercover investigation aimed at targeting online child predators.
According to the Toombs County Sheriff's Office, Anthony Cole Dowd was the target of the one-day investigation into those who traffic children in the sex industry, including those that are willing to pay to have sex with a child.
Dowd was arrested on April 10 and charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes and possession of marijuana. He traveled to a predetermined location where he was taken into custody, the sheriff's office said.
This investigation targeted people who communicate with children online and then travel to meet them in order to have sex, according to the sheriff's office.
