Aerospace industry taking off in Georgia
As the aerospace industry continues to boom in Georgia, local suppliers are looking for new ways to get at the table with major aerospace manufacturers.
In 2015, aerospace had a $63.8 billion impact on the state of Georgia and the industry is continuing to grow.
More than 100 companies attended the Supplier Opportunities and Aerospace Resources Conference on Thursday to connect and increase their business.
"Bringing together smaller companies that will meet the big companies, but also find an opportunity perhaps to partner with somebody that offers services that they don't offer and then they can bid together on a bigger contract," said director of the Center of Innovation for Aerospace Amy Hudnall.
Hudnall also says aerospace typically pays about half again as much as the average state wages so these are good jobs to have in the community.
