Authorities arrest man wanted for Waffle House shooting
MACON, Ga. -- The man wanted for reportedly shooting two people at Waffle House on Wednesday was arrested Friday.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, Johntellis Montez Mathis, 30, was arrested without incident just before 2:30 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Criminal Street Gang Activity and Probation Violation.
The arrest was a joint effort between the Bibb County Sheriff’s Violent Crimes Investigators, Gang Investigators and Special Investigations Unit.
It was reported that deputies responded to the Waffle House on Rocky Creek road early Wednesday morning after a man fired several shots.
One man was shot in the leg and another was grazed by a bullet. They weren't seriously injured.
Thursday the sheriff's office reported that Montez was the suspect in the shooting.
