Bibb Sheriff's Office: Armed robbery victim, suspect met through Facebook


MACON, Ga. -- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a residence on Montpelier Ave. on Friday, Feb. 9.

A report states that the victim, who is a juvenile, told the responding deputy that he met with the suspect, also a juvenile, to buy a cellphone.

The victim said that he and the suspect met over Facebook messenger to talk about an iPhone that the suspect was selling. The two agreed to meet after school at the victim's home.

According to the report, when the two met the victim gave the suspect $130 for the cellphone, at which time the suspect a small silver handgun at the victim and told him not to move.

The suspect then fled on foot down Ninadel Dr. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hat, jean jacket and blue jean pants.

The victim was able to identify the suspect to law enforcement through a photo on Facebook.
