Bibb Sheriff's Office: man shoots at stop sign, hides from deputies in attic

MGN

MACON, Ga. -- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has charged a man for shooting at a stop sign near Mint Green Cir. on Saturday, Feb. 10.

According to a sheriff's office report, a witness told the responding deputy that they watched a man standing in the street shooting in the direction of a trailer before driving away in a gold-colored vehicle.

The deputy reported that they could not find any damage to trailers or vehicles in the area.

The report states that another witness told the deputy that he followed the suspect's vehicle to a nearby residence, where he watched two people get out of the car and enter the home. The witnessed said that one of the individuals was holding a pistol.

According to the report, deputies went to the residence and discovered that the suspect who had fired the shots was hiding in the attic.

The suspect, 27-year-old James Harrell, reportedly admitted to deputies that he had fired at a stop sign three times and then gave the firearm to other residents in the home to hide.

Harrell was then taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
