Troopers pull driver from vehicle after 1 car crash on I-16

A driver is entrapped after crashing their car into the woods on Interstate 16 Friday morning/Ronshad Berry (WGXA)

MACON, Ga. - Troopers rescued an entrapped driver who crashed their car into the woods on Interstate 16 Friday morning.

It happened on I-16 west at mile marker 20 around 10:20 a.m. A car crashed into the wood line and the driver was entrapped.

GSP troopers told WGXA the crash was due to rain and slick tires. It took an hour and a half to pull the driver from his car.

He was then taken to the hospital. There is no word yet on his injuries.

Macon-Bibb, Twiggs, Laurens and Allentown counties first responders were all on scene.
