East Macon water main break could affect 'a significant number' of customers
MACON, Ga. -- A water main break will leave East Macon customers without water for a several hours.
The Macon Water Authority is on site near Emery Highway and Ocmulgee East Blvd making necessary repairs.
According to a press release on their website earlier Thursday night, repairs to the 12-inch break were expected to be complete around 3:45 Friday morning.
On an updated press release, no timeline was mentioned.
Overnight workers planned to shut off a valve and drain water from the area to get to the problem for repairs.
The authority said it appreciates everyone's patience during this time.
