Family of Warner Robins homicide victim speaks out
FORT VALLEY, Ga.-- The Warner Robins police department is investigating the death of 55-year-old Elliot Mizell. They believe he was killed inside his home on Villa North Court in Warner Robins.
His family is in disbelief.
"I can't believe that his life was you know short like that but it was and we just have to do our best to stay strong," said his sister Elouise Brown.
Elliot Mizell was a brother, uncle and friend to many.
Brown said she remembers his energetic spirit.
"He was that guy that would participate even in the church he was always the guy that wanted to do and did do," said Brown.
Mizell graduated from Fort Valley University with a masters in education and was very involved in his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpa.
"He also loved the education, if it was about education you could find him,"Brown said.
His family said they are still struggling with the fact someone killed him.
"I would wish that my brother could return to us because it hurts," Brown said.
They're hopeful that the law will bring justice for Mizell.
"It's not going to be one of those things where you put it in a cold file and forget, it's not going to be like that," Brown said.
Mizell will be laid to rest in Fort Valley, the place he called his second home.
"It's just hard for us because we don't know exactly what we are facing, except for we have lost someone that we loved dearly and we know that he loved us also,"Brown said.
