Fans excited as baseball returns to Macon, Luther Williams Field
MACON, Ga. -- The first Macon Bacon game at Central City Park's Luther Williams Field sold out Friday night.
That means 3,500 fans are set to cheer on the Bacon in their first ever home game.
Fans are certainly excited to see baseball back in Macon. It's been eight years since the city last had a team.
Prior to Friday's 7 p.m. start, people tailgated at Central City Park to get ready for the matchup with the Blowfish.
The Bacon beat the Bananas Thursday night in Savannah in the season opener for both teams.
