Fatal I-75 accident kills Savannah woman
MONROE COUNTY, GA (WGXA) -- The Monroe County Sheriff's Office reports that one woman was killed when her car was hit head-on at around 12:35 a.m. Saturday near the Pate Road exit.
Sgt. Lawson Bittick said that 62-year-old Rosalynn Ruth of Savannah lost control of her car going North on I-75 and hit a guard rail. Her car was stopped in the left lane in a curve. That's when Sgt. Bittick says another car hit her head-on. Officials pronounced Ruth dead at the scene.
Sgt. Bittick said the other driver who has not been identified was taken to the hospital. He said the investigation is ongoing and at this time no word yet if any charges will be filed.
