Flash Flood Warning Issued: Baldwin and Hancock Counties

SPARTA, Ga.-- The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning portions of Baldwin and Hancock Counties, until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Radar indicates heavy rain across the warned area. Two or more inches of rain have already fallen and flash flooding is possible in the near future.

Some locations that will experience flooding include the cities of Milledgeville, Sparta, Meriwether, Devereux, Beulah, Underwood, Shoulderbone, Linton and Culverton.

Additional rainfall amounts of two inches are possible in the warned area.

If you encounter water on the roadways, know that it's difficult to judge how deep it is. Even small amounts of water can stop or sweep your car away. Exercise caution, give yourself extra time to stop while driving. If you're unsure of what to do, turn around, don't drown.
