GA Military College hosts ceremony in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

MACON, Ga. -- Georgia Military College hosted a ceremony in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Friday, Jan. 12 at the Goldstein Center for Performing Arts on the GMC campus.

President of Albany Technical College, Dr. Anthony Parker, was the guest speaker at Friday's event.

Dr. Parker and President William Caldwell presented Georgia Military College Prep freshman Isaaiah Wilson with the Distinguished order of the Servant Leader Award, which honors GMC students who have volunteered in the community for at least 100 hours within a year.

Freshman Isaaiah Wilson has not only completed the required 100 hours to receive this award, but has in total acquired 400 hours of community service within a year and a half. Wilson spends time volunteering at a senior living center with his mother and through the organization Uniting the Church in the Community in Baldwin County.
