GBI investigating death of Telfair Co. woman as homicide
TELFAIR COUNTY, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a Telfair County woman.
According to Scott Whitley with the GBI, Patrice Ellis was found dead in her E. Bruce Street home by her roommate around noon on Monday.
The roommate called 911 and the McRae-Helena Police Department requested assistance from the GBI.
Ellis' body will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab and an autopsy will determine her cause of death, but Whitley said the case is being investigated as a homicide.
Whitley said the GBI won't release the suspected cause of death.
The Georgia Dept. of Community Supervision is also assisting with the investigation.
