Georgia College bringing back Flannery O'Connor's Andalusia house
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Georgia College and State University is putting the final touches on bringing back some history to Milledgeville.
The college will re-open Flannery O'Connor's Andalusia house next Tuesday.
After almost a year of renovations, the director of the house says the opening will once again give fans of the author an inside look into her life and the home that shaped some of her better known literature.
"I think people are very excited to see the work we've accomplished here," said Matthew Davis, director of Historic Museums, Georgia College and State University. "O'Connor is an increasingly very important american literature figure. Andalusia is being the base of which most of her stories were written from and serve as inspiration for several of her key stories."
The Andalusia House will be open daily form 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
