UPDATE: GSP trooper involved in Dublin crash released from hospital

Sgt. Lee Weaver with the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) confirmed that the GSP trooper was evaluated and has been release from the hospital.

DUBLIN, Ga. -- A Georgia State Patrol trooper is in the hospital after a truck collided with his patrol car in Dublin Wednesday afternoon.

Lt. Sammy Young tells WGXA the crash happened around 1 p.m. on State Route 31.

The GSP trooper was traveling on the road with his lights flashing and sirens on when a truck came through a green light on Firetower Rd. in Dublin, slamming into the trooper car, Sgt. Lee Weaver with GSP confirmed.

Young says the trooper is in the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
