Improvements to Central City Park continue
MACON, Ga. -- Improvements to Central City Park are one step closer to completion.
This phase of improvements costs approximately $3.7 million in SPLOST dollars.
Local leaders said the work centered around the skate park, new sidewalks, four new multipurpose fields, new concession stands with restrooms and other improvements.
Director Reggie Moore with the Macon-Bibb Parks and Recreation said there are even more improvements planned in the next phase.
"There is a phase two," Moore said. "We're getting ready to start developing the plans for phase two which will probably focus on the ball fields as well as improving the lighting and a new destination play ground just to name a few things."
The entire project was given $6 million in SPLOST funds.
