MGSU student charged in alleged rape of Wesleyan student
MACON, Ga. -- A Middle Georgia State University student was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a Wesleyan College student.
According to a Bibb County incident report, while at the hospital after the alleged assault, the Wesleyan student told authorities that she had been drinking in her dorm room with Darrin Brown, 19, on Saturday night when he began to remove her clothing.
The victim told authorities that she had tried to lay down and go to sleep when the reported assault began.
She told deputies that she was in a fog but could remember telling Brown to stop and trying to push him off, but that when she tried to call for help he put his hand over her nose and mouth, causing her to pass out.
The victim said that when she woke up, she was being sexually assaulted by Brown.
The incident report states that she showed deputies text messages that she received from Brown in which he stated that he was sorry for what he had done and that he felt guilty.
Brown was arrested on Monday and charged with aggravated sodomy and rape.
A representative for Wesleyan College would not comment on the case. A representative for Middle Georgia State would not comment but confirmed that Brown is a student there.
