Passersby pull elderly man and wife from burning motor home after crash
MACON, Ga. -- A mobile home overturned and burst into flames Friday morning on I-75S in Macon.
It happened near Hartley Bridge Road just before 9 a.m.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, the Ford Motor Home was traveling south on I-75 when the driver, a 63-year-old Pennsylvania man, lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the median wall.
The motor home then turned on its side and caught fire.
The 75-year-old wife of the man driving the motor home was also inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The sheriff's office says passersby pulled the man and his wife from the burning vehicle.
The man did not sustain any injuries but his wife was airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center for injuries she sustained. She is in critical condition.
