Monroe Schools to make up two days missed during Irma
MONROE COUNTY, Ga. -- Monroe County students will make up two of the three days they missed due to Hurricane Irma.
The school board announced that the make up days will be Nov. 20 and Nov. 21.
"We are thankful Monroe County Schools survived the storm without any major damage to our schools," Superintendent Mike Hickman in a release. "We are also thankful to the city and county officials who worked with the school system to help make decisions regarding safety and school closures. Our entire community is to be commended for their help, support, and compassion to those who were and still are being affected by the storm."
Monroe County Schools certified employees will make up the final day missed by logging eight professional learning hours or work-related activities after school hours.
