Multiple shootings in Macon on Friday night leave man and teen hurt
MACON, Ga.-- Bibb County Sheriff's investigators are working multiple shooting incidents that now leave a man and a teenager injured.
According to a release, just after 8:00 p.m. Friday night, deputies responded to the Dollar General store in the 3700 block of Houston Avenue in South Macon, after reports of a person shot.
Deputies say the victim Kyle Finney, 16, of Macon was walking along a pathway behind the vacant Church’s Chicken restaurant when he heard several gun shots and began running. When Finney got off the path, he realized he had been shot in the right calf.
He called 911 for help, when deputies arrived Finney could not identify who had fired the shots.
Deputies then responded to a call of a second shooting just after 11:30 p.m. in West Macon on Robinson Road near Hollingsworth Road.
Deputies say when they arrived they found the victim, Eddie James Harris Jr., 23, of Macon sitting inside his car with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Harris told investigators he was traveling north on Hollingsworth Rd. behind a gray Ford Fusion , as both cars turned right onto Robinson Road, the Ford Fusion then pulled over to the right side of the road.
Harris said he tried to drive pass the car when several shots were fired into his vehicle. Deputies say Harris then got out of his car and fired back. The suspect then drove away after the exchange of gunfire.
The vehicle is described as a dark gray Ford Fusion with dark tinted windows.
Both victims in the two separate shootings were taken to the Medical Center at Navicent Health where they were both treated and are now listed in stable condition.
