No criminal charges to be filed in fatal shooting of Emmauel Stroud Jr.
MACON, Ga. -- A release from the office of the district attorney on Friday states that the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office has ruled the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Emmanuel Lee Stroud Jr. to be justified.
According to the release, no criminal charges will be filed.
On Sept. 16, 2017, Bibb County deputies responded to a report of a person shot in the road near the intersection of Edwina and Walmar Drives around 11:50 p.m.
Deputies found both Stround and 36-year-old Tecovelin Starling shot. Stroud later died from his injuries.
An investigation by the sheriff's office showed evidence that Stroud shot Starling and then Starling shot Stroud in self-defense.
