Official: Homeless man hit by car in Macon, taken to hospital
MACON, Ga. -- A homeless man is in the hospital in critical condition after being hit by a car in Macon Friday night.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says it happened at 6:49 p.m.
A Honda Civic driving down Emery Highway trying to get on I-16 hit the man.
Jones says officials don't have identification for the man. He was taken to Navicent Health in "very critical condition."
The driver of the Honda Civic is talking with Bibb County Sheriff's deputies.
The incident is still under investigation.
