One murder charge dropped against Perry teen murder suspects
PERRY, Ga. -- One of the seven charges previously filed against the two Perry teens accused of killing Sam Poss, 18, last year has been dropped.
Brandon Warren and Dakota White were charged with malice murder, two counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of concealing a death and one count of tampering with evidence in connection to Poss's death.
According to a Houston County Grand Jury Indictment, one of those felony murder charges has since been dropped against both defendants.
WGXA has reached out to Houston County District Attorney George Hartwig about to reason for the dropped charge.
In a December hearing, Hartwig said that White and Warren had created a suicide pact and planned to kill an unnamed 12-year-old before their alleged murder of Poss.
Both White and Warren have pleaded not guilty.
In June, a judge ordered that Warren undergo a mental evaluation to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.
