Rutland High celebrates Veterans Day and the Marine Corps' birthday
MACON, Ga. -- The Rutland High ROTC program and students alike celebrated Veterans Day and the Marine Corps' birthday on Thursday.
There were guest speakers on hand as well as student cadets to talk about the military experience.
Rutland's Commanding Officer Christopher Poole said he does not want veterans to ever feel forgotten.
"I think it's so important so that the veterans or people in the military themselves, they won't feel like they're being forgotten," Poole said. "They're being recognized for what they're doing because what they're doing is a sacrifice."
Poole, a senior at Rutland, said he enjoys being part of ROTC and leading by example.
