Southwest High blood drive highlights importance of volunteering
MACON, Ga. -- Southwest High School and Law Academy hosted a blood drive on Thursday.
Nurse Laurie Smith said it was the school's second blood drive and that it's important to show students how to volunteer in different ways.
"It's important for the students to see how important it is to give back to the community and help save lives and volunteer in different ways," Smith said.
The school will hold another drive before the school year ends. The next Red Cross blood drive is Monday, March 20 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church sanctuary from 3 to 7 p.m.
