Suspect arrested in armed robbery of Macon man

MACON, Ga-- A Macon man is behind bars after Bibb County Sheriff's Deputies say he robbed another man at gunpoint on Monday night.

Deputies say they met with the victim at just before 8 p.m. after receiving a call of an armed robbery. The 23 year old male victim told deputies that he met with the suspect, who he knew, to loan the suspect some money.

Investigators say the two met at an address on Cavalier Drive. The victim got into the suspect's car and the suspect, later identified as Drake Clifton Holmes, 22, of Macon pulled a gun and demanded all the money that the victim had with him.After being robbed, the victim followed Holmes.

Holmes was later interviewed by investigators, arrested and charged with armed robbery, criminal use of a article with an altered ID mark (the gun), and possession of marijuana less than ounce.

Holmes is now being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and will go before a magistrate court judge for a possible bond.
