MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Two Georgia College students are headed abroad for the Fulbright Student Program.

Audrey Waits, a biology graduate student and Kevin Morris, an economics and history student, will go to Finland and Macedonia, respectively, this fall.

Morris said this has been an overwhelming experience for him.

"It's a big shock to me when I was named semi-finalist," Morris said. "And then to learn I've been selected for the Fulbright was just really overwhelming and pretty crazy. It's still kind of unbelievable and kind of strange that it's happening to me."

Fulbright gives students and graduates the opportunity to study, teach and research in over 140 countries.

Almost 2,000 Fulbright grants are awarded annually.
