Vine Ingle Little League gets new fields for the upcoming season
MACON, Ga-- Softball players and their families gathered on Saturday morning to celebrate the new field opening at Freedom Park.
Organizers said that phase one of the construction is now complete and the park is open after renovation. Jason Smith, the president of Vine Ingle Little League said he's excited to see what these renovated fields have in store for teams.
"A lot of us have grown up here and played here," Smith said. "I played here on this exact spot when this was Morgan field when I was thirteen-fourteen years old. And so it serves we have about seven hundred families that play baseball and softball here this year. And so it's just a place for kids to learn life lessons, to build character, to learn baseball and softball. And it is a big part of all of these families' lives."
Vine Ingle Little League said it's mission is to teach children discipline, teamwork, and leadership.
