MACON, Ga. -- The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is accepting applications for this year's students.

The after school program teaches middle and high school students how to launch their own companies.

Program Director Nadia Osman said the classes are held in the Mercer Innovation Center.

Students learn how to develop a business idea and plan in 30 weeks.

The process is helpful for students' futures, according to Osman.

"They are developing real world skills, professional and personal, that will help them in any career they choose to go into, whether starting their or business or working for a company," Osman said.

Students can apply until Aug. 31 at the Macon Chamber of Commerce website.
