Forsyth: Muralist to depict scenes of downtown
FORSYTH, Ga. -- Thanks to a special grant, the city of Forsyth hired an artist to paint a mural in the city's historic district.
Andrew Patrick Henry from Griffin, just north of Forsyth, was chosen to paint a mural of a train.
"I hope to paint something that generations can look back at and remember their childhood or something good from their past," Henry said. "And something the new generations can look to the future to see Forsyth growing."
"We want to say, 'Welcome to Forsyth. Welcome to the downtown area,'" said Michael Norris, the director of the Forsyth Economic Development Authority. "We really want to attract people who get off the interstate, who may want to come and shop, you know, come up to our downtown area and spend some time in our historic district."
The painting of that mural is currently underway. It will be located on the wall of Ham and Jenkins Law Office in the historic district.
