In an effort to refocus national attention on issues that matter to the President's base, the White House showcased 50 products from each US state as part of its "Made in America" week Monday.

White House director of media Affairs Helen Aguirre Ferre announced the move Sunday.

As part of the themed week, President Donald Trump also plans to make a proclamation on the importance of producing goods in America Wednesday and travel to Virginia for the commissioning of a new aircraft carrier -- the USS Gerald R. Ford -- Saturday.

For the showcase, the White House intends to "host companies from across the country," a post to the White House blog read. "The White House is highlighting and celebrating each state's effort and commitment to American made products by bringing in and showing off products from all 50 states."
