Hinesville police arrest second person in death of soldiers
Hinvesville, Ga (WTGS FOX 28) —
Hinesville Police Department has announced the arrest of a second person in connection with the deaths of two Ft. Stewart soldiers.
Specialist Phillip E. Thompson was taken into custody late Thursday night by Ft. Stewart CID agents and subsequently turned over to HPD officers, according to a news release.
Specialist Thompson, who is also stationed at the army base, is being charged with Party to the Crime of Murder by intentionally aiding and abetting Sgt. Craig in the commission of the two murders on Sunday March 5th, the release said.
Specialist Thompson is accused of providing transportation to and from the scene of the crime.
He was scheduled to taken before a magistrate Friday for a first appearance hearing.
The investigation continues but no other arrests are anticipated at this time.
