Iconic Georgia roller coaster closing forever
AUSTELL, Ga -- An iconic roller coaster at Six Flags over Georgia is closing for good next month.
The park made the announcement Monday morning in a news release.
The Georgia Cyclone opened in 1990. Since then, it has since served nearly 8.7 million riders.
The roller coaster is almost 100 feet tall and reaches speeds of 50 miles per hour.
The roller coaster will remain open until July 30th, 2017.
The reason for the closure has not been released.
