DNR: Man drowns after crashing flyboard on Tybee Island

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources says they are looking into a drowning that happened on Tybee Island's back river Saturday around 5 p.m.

Witnesses told DNR a man was struggling in the water after crashing his flyboard, which is similar to a hoverboard. Police arrived on scene, but DNR says the man never resurfaced.

The man has been identified as Shaun Domorod, 31, of Savannah.

The investigation is still ongoing, according to DNR.
