Man allegedly attacked neighbor, police and snapped dogs' necks
COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - A Colerain Township man is facing seven felony charges after police say he attacked and killed his dogs after assaulting his neighbor. On top of that police say he attacked and spit on three officers.
Officers say Jamal David approached his neighbor's girlfriend who was outside with her own dog The woman called 911.
“I was letting my dog out to use the bathroom and he (David) comes over and he tried to like push me away from my dog and tried to like put his hands on me,” said the caller.
She describes as acting crazy as he turned on his own dogs.
“The guy ( David) starts cussing at me and then I hear (dog whimper/scream) and the dog is dead. It’s dead in his arms and he throws him out in the street and stomps the other one’s head,” said the caller.
When police arrive Colerain Township Detective Mark Stockmeier says it took several officers to get David under control.
“Once we got him in handcuffs he became very irate and started shouting profanities and words we were not able to understand,” said Det. Stockmeier. “As we attempted to get him into the police cruiser he was kicking and spitting, he had to be maced a few times, he spit on three different officers.”
David mumbled a few words before a judge Tuesday. David’s attorney says David doesn’t have a criminal record and moved to the Colerain Township from the Bahamas three years ago.
