Alabama ends Mercer's season in WNIT

The postseason success came to an end Thursday night in Tuscaloosa as Mercer fell to Alabama 81-57 in round 1 of the WNIT.

The Tide jumped out to a 15-8 lead and never trailed the rest of the way. Mercer cut the deficit to five midway through the second quarter on a Kahlia Lawrence jumper, but the Bears didn't get any closer.

Lawrence paced the Bears with 19 points as Mercer finished their season 25-7 with a school record for wins in DI competition.

Mercer is expected to return all five starters and key members of the bench to the court next season.
