Bacon announce new partnerships with Macon Beer, Boys & Girls Club
MACON, Ga. -- Tonight, the Macon Bacon announced their new partnerships with Macon Beer Company and the Central Georgia Boys & Girls Club. Macon Beer Company will have the naming rights to Luther Williams Field's new beer garden, and the Boys & Girls Club are partnering with the Bacon to start a community program to raise awareness for alcohol abuse and underage drinking.
“It is great to see two local organizations looking to give back to this kids in this community," said Phillip Bryant, President of the Boys and Girls Club. “This is important information that kids need to be aware of.”
The beer garden will stretch alongside the left field foul line, and will sell limited edition Macon Bacon/Macon Beer Company shirts. A portion of the profits from these shirts will be donated to the Central Georgia Boys & Girls Club.
The Bacon have been making a concerted effort to renovate Luther Williams Field to create a better gameday experience for fans, and this beer garden is a big step towards that goal.
“This is going to be one of the largest beer gardens in the southeast," said team president Todd Pund. “Baseball is more than just a game today, it is all about hospitality and entertainment.”
The Bacon's inaugural season will begin on May 31 with a trip to Savannah to take on the in-state rival Bananas. Then the Bacon will come home on Jun. 1 to play their first game in Macon against the Lexington County Blowfish.
