Askew's complete game headlines Mercer's fifth straight win

MACON, GA -- Ryan Askew threw a complete-game improving staying perfect on the year as Mercer cruised to a 4-2 win over Samford Friday night at OrthoGeorgia Park.

Askew (4-0) allowed two runs on nine hits while striking out seven Bulldogs. "Big Skew" allowed just five hits over the final six innings of work.

JT Thomas and Hunter Bening each blasted solo home runs as Mercer was able to pull away from Samford late.

Mercer (26-6, 6-1) pushes their winning streak to five games. The Bears and Bulldogs continue the series Saturday afternoon with a 2:00 first pitch at OrthoGeorgia Park.
