Bobcats take series opener from Augusta
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Georgia College is a team that likes to score a lot of runs, but they only needed one run to beat the Augusta Jaguars in the series opener Friday night at John Kurtz Field, as they won 1-0.
The Bobcats used a stellar start from pitcher Brady Walsh (5-1) who went 7.1 innings allowing four hits, no runs and striking out five en route to his fifth win of the season. Grant Khan locked down his sixth save of the season thanks to a quick three-up-three-down ninth.
Cal Gentry brought in the only run of the game with an RBI single in the third inning.
The Bobcats have now won eight in a row and will try for nine tomorrow.
Georgia College (27-9, 13-6) take on Augusta in game two of the series Saturday at noon.
