Georgia College bounced from NCAA tournament

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -- The Georgia College Bobcats baseball team's run in the NCAA tournament has come to an end after two games. The Bobcats fell Lincoln Memorial 7-6 on Friday afternoon in an elimination game at the Southeast regional.

Georgia College trailed Lincoln Memorial 6-0 after seven innings before mounting a comeback which included two runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at six. In the bottom of the ninth, the Railspitters had the bases loaded with one out before scoring the winning run on sacrifice fly.

Brandon Purcell had the big bat for the Bobcats going 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Starting pitcher Charlie Hecht went 4.1 innings allowing five earned runs on eight hits.

The Bobcats finish the season with a record of 35-15.
