HOOVER, AL-- New heights are set for the Georgia Bulldogs this season as Head Coach Kirby Smart enters his second year in Athens.

At Tuesday's SEC Media Day session, media members made their decision on who would win the SEC East: the Georgia Bulldogs.

Georgia received 1,572 points, including 138 first-place votes, Florida (1,526 points and 96 first-place votes.) The two were followed by Tennessee (998 points and three first-place votes), South Carolina (897 and five first-place votes), Kentucky (869), Vanderbilt (554) and Missouri (388).

Receiving the expectation to win the East isn't new territory for the Bulldogs as this will be their fourth time in six years with the preseason decision. Last year, the media picked the Bulldogs to finish third while Georgia wrapped up the season in a three-way tie for second.

Smart and Georgia still have an uphill battle in the conference as a whole. Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson Tide were picked to win both the West division and the SEC for a fourth straight year.
