Howard Joe delivered a clutch RBI-double in the 12th inning as Mercer topped Georgia 4-3 Tuesday night in Athens, sweeping the season series against the Bulldogs.

Joe scored Ryan Hagan from first-base putting the Bears out in front for good.

After grabbing the lead briefly in the ninth inning, UGA tied the game in the bottom of the ninth forcing extras. After several threats to take control, Joe put the nail in the coffin giving Mercer their 14th win of the season.

Mercer (14-4) will hit the road again this weekend for a three-game series at East Carolina starting Friday night at 6:30.
