Summer workouts ongoing for CGTC Hoops
MACON, GA -- Basketball season never stops for Central Georgia Tech.
Fresh off another 20-win season in Macon, the Titans are back at work as summer classes begin and off-season workouts continue.
"Everything has already started," said Assistant Coach Byron Mincey. "These summer months were going through all of our stuff. We're trying to get better with ball handling, shooting, defensively and everything."
Tuesday brought forth two afternoon training sessions for the Titans. Despite being the summer, CGTC has the schedule packed with workouts, weightlifting, classes, and even pickup games against major competition.
" We're playing in the afternoon against professionals," said Mincey. "Guys who are playing across seas in Germany and Spain and stuff like that and plus guys that have played at the Division I level. Everyday our freshman are getting their behind beat. Every single day they're getting used to the grind."
The Titans lose key members from last season's team including leading scorer Nosike Obanya. Head Coach Reco Dawson is confident his young squad will be ready to compete for the GCAA Title once again.
