UGA Baseball falls in Region Final
The Baseball season for Georgia came to an end on Monday. The Bulldogs dropped a pair of games to Duke in the Athens Region Final of the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils now advance to play Texas Tech in the Super Regional.
In Game One, the Blue Devils trailed 5-3 heading to the 5th. They got 1 run in that inning, another in the 6th, then 3 in the 7th to pull out the 8-5 victory. Duke was led by Griffin Conine and Kennie Taylor who each homered. The Bulldogs were led by Tucker Bradley who went 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs. Graeme Stinston got the win for Duke going 4 and two thirds innings giving up just 1 run and striking out 8.
In Game Two, the Blue Devils scored 5 runs in the top of the 3rd, and that's all they would need en route to a 8-4 win. Duke was led by Zach Kone who went 2 for 4 with a homer and 3 RBIs. Conine went 2 for 4 with a homer and 2 RBIs. The Bulldogs were led by Aaron Schunk and LJ Talley who each went 2 for 4 with a RBI.
The Bulldogs end the season at 39-21.
