USC Aiken storms back to knock off Georgia College in Southeast Regional

MOUNT OLIVE, NC -- Georgia College opened the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament in heartbreak Thursday morning.

After holding a lead for seven-innings against conference rival USC Aiken, the Bobcats were unable to complete the mission falling to the Pacers 6-5 on a walk-off single.

Georgia College jumped out to a 5-3 lead in the second inning after Brandon Benson delivered a bases-clearing RBI double. After six-consecutive scoreless innings, USC Aiken tied up the game on a Daulton Weeks' two-run home run.

Luke Westerberg delivered the game-winning run on an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth.

Georgia College heads to the elimination round Friday morning.
