WARNER ROBINS, GA -- A couple times a week, the Houston County Sharks meet at Pearl Stephens Elementary School in the evenings for handball practice.

Each practice consists of a scrimmage between the players. With three weeks in between games, the Sharks shook things up this week.

Thursday the team scrimmaged the 53rd Gator unit from Robins Air Force Base who volunteered their time for the practice.

"It's pretty cool," said Sharks player Maddie Watts. "It's just nice to be able to thank them for their service. Just to play with them is fun."

The players said it was a great way to shake up the season. Having others come out and experience handball is great for the team.

"We're the little people, but you got the big people coming to see us play," said Sharks player Ca'ron Harris. "I think it's kind of cool to have that happen."

The Sharks return to action Oct. 22 with a home game against the Henry Hurricanes at Bonaire Middle School.
