MACON, GA -- In two weeks the Macon RBI will throw out the first pitch for baseball and softball season.

Despite baseball being the focus of the program, softball was taken care of Thursday night at Tom Fontaine Park.

The Macon RBI chapter unveiled donated softball equipment from "Pitch in for Baseball" valued at $10,000 to the program's teams. The non-profit organization donated gloves, bats, catchers gear and softball equipment to RBI. The night was not only about getting ready for the season making sure the ladies were recognized and appreciated.

"They got the first brand new equipment, you know and they're getting more equipment than the guys are," said Macon RBI member Jeff Battcher. "That's what important is to make sure that they know that they're just as important as anybody else."

Baseball and softball season will begin for the Macon RBI April 8 at Tom Fontaine Park.
